Micro G and HOVR make an appearance on the Under Armour Curry 7 Are they making a difference? Check out our performance review to find out.

I don’t worry about traction as much as most Curry models.

The combination of Herringbone and a radial design — which are both my favorite types of traction patterns — worked great. The aggressive setup was able quietly to bite the floor and provided ample grip so I didn’t have to clean my soles. This setup is ideal for anyone who needs traction. The multidirectional coverage of this setup is ideal for all players, regardless of their style or footwork.

Curry 7

Under Armour Curry 7

Pros

  • High-Performance Traction

  • Lightweight Design

  • Supportive Fit

  • Stylish Aesthetics

Cons

  • Limited Cushioning

  • Breathability

Outdoor players may notice fraying and grinding due to the rubber’s softness. There is plenty of rubber, multiple layers of each pattern, so it will wear down quickly. However, there are still other patterns.

Under Armour used two of its most innovative foam compounds to create this dual-set design. The cushion is firm and lackluster, just like every Curry signature shoe.

You won’t get the Micro G’s bounceback and the HOVR’s springy plushness, but you will be disappointed. The setup is firm despite the use of tech names. Firm, but stable.

This setup is ideal for people who want a shoe that feels good and doesn’t slip under their feet. This shoe is a great example of Curry’s commitment to stability. This shoe is great for shooters and anyone looking for a stable and low-profile setup. If we want to compare it to another guard’s signature, the Kyrie shoe is a good choice, but with less awkwardly rounded tooling.

The Curry 6 knit I loved is no more because of the replacement on variety of textiles and synthetics.

The setup works well on court and I don’t mind it. There is nothing to be unhappy about from a performance standpoint. The only thing that makes me feel “meh” about the shoe is its signature look, but lacks a signature feel. These shoes are not premium, but they could be.

The substituted little leather, suede or nubuck could be 100% synthetic. The use of TPU layer could also be effective due to less flexibility and high durability, not found in raw materials.. However, The manufacturing of collar and top cap could be of nice raw material.. This would have given the shoe an unique feel, which is rare amongst the many signature models that include mesh, ripstop and knits.

Performance is everything, and there are no complaints. The Under Armour Forge 96, I think was a great blend of premium/raw materials and modern synthetics. This would have elevated the Curry 7 above the other signature shoes.

I found the Curry 7 to be true to size.

Although it took a bit to adapt Curry 7 it was a little more comfortable for me than Curry 6. These just feel a little more secure and fit my foot better than the Curry 6.

The Curry 3Zer0.3 is the closest to the Curry 7. These are better than the Curry 6.

The Curry 7 has excellent support. They look like runners, which might be a problem for some, but they are built to support my feet perfectly.

The HOVR is the securing device that wraps around the sidewalls. It prevents your foot from sliding off the footbed. The footbed is stabilized by an internal heel counter and TPU moderator platesr. Although the outrigger is not as prominent as in previous models, it works as well. They have found a way of making the outriggers smaller and more supportive. It sounds strange, but it works beautifully. This might be the most supportive Curry since Curry 1.

The Under Armour Curry 7 is an absolute beast on the court.

Great traction. Even though they don’t have a premium feel, materials work great. Although the fit of each person is different, they all fit perfectly. The support was amazing.

However, the cushion area was disappointing. Although this shoe is a Curry, we can expect a firmer shoe. However, the marketing of the shoe with a strong focus on UA’s best foams, which happen to be the best foam cushions available in their shoe brands such as in Under Armour CN1, left me somewhat disappointed.

The shoe’s other features work so well that I keep them in my rotation. It’s impossible to predict when you might be heading to the gym, and the floors will be a disaster. It’s never a bad idea to have something that has traction such as this in your gym bag.
